Maki is a kind-hearted young man who cares about everyone, gentle in speech yet friendly to those he meets. He often puts the needs of others before his own and always says yes. He is somewhat very timid and extremly polite around others. Due to his timidness, he usually acts awkwardly around people and speaks softly. When speaking, he often stutters and makes mistakes sometimes, resulting to his accent thickening and making him tongue-twisted. But when dancing, he does not hold himself back and his shyness somehow goes away. Despite his gentle nature, he can be rather dense and clueless. Maki tends to be serious and diligent in what he does, sometimes overworking too much and tiring himself out. Once you get to know him, he shows more of his playful and bubbly side. For the most part, he has a very cheerful personality. 

Biography:

<sub>Born in Manila, Philippines, Maki enjoyed his life with his father, mother, elder sister, younger brother and a fat rude cat. His family and relatives from his mother’s side were all doctors and nurses, and he was expected to follow their footsteps and become a nurse as well. Though, that wasn’t what he wanted to do in life. Instead, he wanted to do something that he was very passionate about, dancing. Ever since he was a young child, he admired dancers that he watched in television, and hoped of becoming one as well. He dreamed of performing in front of a huge audience, basking in their praise.

However, even if that dream was set on his mind and he had talent for it, his mother did not approve at all and all of his relatives wanted for him to be like them. Maki tried to change her mind, but nothing happened. He tried to go talk to his father, who actually approved of what he wanted to be. His father suggested for him to move to where his elder sister was, America. Maki have always dreamed of living there when he heard about it. He wanted to live “The American Dream” ((*cough* that’s cheesy *cough*)) and maybe start his career there.</sub>

<sub>Maki tried one more time to convince his mother, but she again refused, meaning that his mother has already set his path for him. A path that he didn't want to follow. And again, he wanted to try once more, but gave up, knowing that his mother will never changer her mind and he will only dissapoint his family. So he pushed his long-life dream away, and continued his studies. 

After graduating high school, he finally moved to New York, where his big sister was so she will be able to help him. Adjusting was hard for him and New York wasn't exactly what he expected it to be.</sub> He studied in the university where her mother wanted him to for a few months, but he did not do well and couldn’t focus at all. He wasn’t satisfied with what he was doing and he was failing at it as well. He thought of moving back to the Philippines, though he knew that he won’t still be able to do what he wanted there and also was scared to because of his family. So he just kept studying, not knowing what to do anymore.

_{While he was resting in the university, he hears of a commotion in the campus grounds and decided to check on what was happening. There was a group of professional dancers who performed and were in search of someone like them. Maki saw this as a chance to begin his dream, though he wasn’t sure if he could because of his mother. His elder sister tries to convince him to join them. Since one of the members was a close friend of hers, she could ask them if he could join. He thought of this for a while, and decided to join them. He was able to join in their troupe and even got a part-time job as a dance coach, but he still had to study and keep this as a secret from his mother. However, Maki began to enjoy his life more and finally started his dream. Being a part of the dance troupe, he hoped that this might change his path and lead him to the future he wished.}
